Do something

My column today is an attempt to be positive about the compassionate and resilient nature of Louisiana and its people in the context of a completely changed landscape. Unfortunately, those comments have been overtaken by events in NOLA where the scenes of suffering and lawlessness defy description. The time will indeed come for pointed questions to those whose responsibility it was to protect, feed and shelter the some 100,000 left behind in New Orleans when Katrina approached. But the only thing that matters right now is getting everyone out and providing some sort of water/food to the people waiting for a chance to leave. DO SOMETHING.
